Power Shapes Pop Up
Come discover how fun learning can be – we can’t wait to see you!
10:30 am – 12:00 pm and 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm
Join us this Saturday for a day of discovery, creativity, and hands-on fun! Our STEAM-focused activities are designed for all ages – everyone is welcome to explore, experiment, and learn together.
This week, explore Power Shapes – a hands-on challenge that asks: which shapes are the strongest? You might be surprised to see how a circle can hold more than a square – but why is that? Test different shapes, make predictions, and discover how strength and design work together. Is the shape that holds the most always the best choice? Come find out!
About STEAM Sundays (this week on Saturday)
This special program is led by high school volunteers Michelle and Kevin from Kathleen MacDonald High School. Michelle is especially curious about the brain and hopes to become a neurologist one day – did you know your body can still function and move normally with only half a brain? Kevin’s passion lies in chemistry; he’s been fascinated by chemical reactions ever since he watched a video about “elephant toothpaste” as a kid.
Children and families will dive into exciting concepts across physics, neuroscience, chemistry, and biology – all through playful, hands-on activities that spark curiosity and imagination.
